POSITION SUMMARY
The position requires a faculty member to have values consistent with the mission and purpose(s) of Hannibal-LaGrange University and Craigmiles School of Nursing’s (CSON), integrating faith and learning, and actively contributing to teaching, student support, service, and scholarship in nursing. Faculty are expected to maintain professional and educational standards while fostering an enriching, faith-based environment. Employee must possess a vibrant, personal faith including a clear testimony of Christian conversion and be actively involved in a Southern Baptist Church or Evangelical Church.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
General Responsibilities: Adhere to university and CSON policies, maintain partnerships with healthcare agencies, and represent the University positively.
Service: Participate in CSON and university committees, support program planning and evaluation, assist in recruitment, and report student-related issues to leadership.
Student Support: Serve as an advisor, provide students with essential learning resources for student success, and maintain student confidentiality and records.
Scholarship of Teaching: Oversee classroom and clinical teaching, evaluate students’ academic performance, and contribute to curriculum development.
Scholarship of Practice and Inquiry: Maintain clinical competence, use evidence-based practices, and improve teaching methodologies.
Faith and Learning: Incorporate Christian values into the educational experience, fostering students’ intellectual and spiritual growth.
Position Requirements
- Qualifications: Compliance with University and CSON faculty standards in areas like teaching, student service, scholarship, and faith integration.
- Experience: Must be proficient in clinical teaching areas, familiar with academic advising, and capable of curriculum and policy development; Must demonstrate organizational and time management skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to serve as a positive representative for the University, foster student growth, and collaborate effectively within and outside the university community; Must demonstrate excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Committed active member of a local evangelical or Southern Baptist church.
- Minimum of a master’s degree required. Terminal degree preferred.
- Must have values consistent with the mission and purpose of Hannibal-LaGrange University.
- Must agree to, and sign off on, and abide by the standards of employment on the back of the HLGU application, and in the administrators and employee handbook.
- Must affirm and sign 1978 Missouri Baptist Convention resolution on Higher Education, the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 from the Southern Baptist Convention, the HLGU Statement of Sex and Sexuality, the HLGU standard on sexual conduct & HLGU alcohol policy.
