Hannibal-LaGrange University Exercise & Sport Science Department opened the door for me to be a strength and conditioning coach while obtaining my degree. The University made a bridge between knowledge and practical experience that facilitate the process of achieving professional success right out of college. I want to give back to my school by making disciples through XCEL Performance, LLC & Hannibal-LaGrange University Educational Partnership to help the department to grow with the character and Christian values that were given to me.
Francisco Rivas '17 Exercise & Sport Science

The exercise and sport science department at Hannibal-LaGrange University is designed to prepare students for a broad variety of careers in the fitness industry such as strength and conditioning, personal training, management of recreational services and much more. The program will also prepare students for graduate programs in physical therapy and athletic training.

Our physical education major is designed to prepare the student for a professional career in physical education. The objective of the physical education teacher education program is to generate physical education teacher candidates with the skills and aptitude necessary for successful certification for K-12 Physical Education.

The department also offers minors in exercise science, sport and recreation management, and coaching.

Physical Education Teacher Certification has been granted at a high success rate. First time Praxis II test results are well above the national and state average.
